Desires and Needs (Gasper) 1993 He's quite a good actor, you know he's more than he seems As he's living a life that no one wants to see They love him and they pet him, too cute to run away But what they don't see is his reason not to stay * He may stay for awhile, as we laugh and wave him by We confirm his self-denial Life is a joke, and death is a smile... He's performed his way through, little boy made it through his teens As he's living in between his desires and his needs They hide him and disguise him, cause that's how he wants to be But the end is drawing nearer, because no one wants to see * BRIDGE Don't let me down, we scream it through our eyes Like we are all that matters, to cover our own disguise Don't let the living kill themselves on our sacrificial rites Don't let the dying kill themselves on our superficial cries... *
2.
How Many Have You Known? (Gasper) 1993 How many have you known? How many second chances have you blown? When the 5th and 6th were near, did you fail under your fear? How many have you known? How many different faces have you shown? And when your pulse began to rise, did you fall to your disguise? Don't even try, I won't shed a tear or even start to cry There were so many things you could have done But you sat in a corner and you sucked your thumb How many have you known? How many seeds of love have you sown? And when the seasons were dry, did you ever stop to try? Being in Love?
3.
Wasted Sundays (Gasper) 1995 Straining closer to the radiation, but hiding from the sun Unable to arise from the covers, veiled from the desperate rerun *Womb glow from the television, eyes of glass and a general glaze Gorwing old in your lifetime of revision Lost in Wasted Sundays Screened by a distance from emotion Inner view of the audience outside Faithless in your pulpit of devotion Escape intrusion with delusion justified * BRIDGE Kept in fear by your self-proclaimed impotence Now and here in your shelf-reclaimed innocence Vivid light in a ray of decision Are they days of wasted sun?
4.
Echo 04:33
Echo (Gasper) 1998 I can see clearly now the rain is gone, at least that is what I'm bound to say No one cared to tell me about the path I was on No one taught me about the games I'd need to play *But now I hear the words you told me Echoing in my mind And now I hear the echo of the strength I need to find I can see clearly now the rain is gone, I can see clearly for today I am scared by all of the things I've done But I'm learning all the things I need to say * I can see clearly now the rain is gone, I can see all the obstacles in my way I'm a student of all of the things gone wrong And I know the price that we must pay *
5.
Liana 03:55
Liana (Gasper) Oh, Liana, what you keep from yourself Oh, Liana, isn't good for your health *And I sing, going home... Oh, Liana, you are what you accuse Oh, Liana, and exactly what you refuse * BRIDGE You walk away when you should stay Thinking the past will pass away And if it haunts, run anyway Oh, Liana, what have you faced? Oh Liana, are you happy as you roam? Oh Liana, why not forgive your home? *
6.
Excuse to Lose (Gasper) Why can't you say what you said you meant? Why can't you say what you said you sent? Words are useful when they're coming from your mouth *Why can't you be what you said you'd like to have been? People try to guide you but you know, the guide's within... You're building these bridges that no one can cross and when they can't get to you, you accept you lost Do you even know what it's about? * BRIDGE You're so obsessed with honesty, but you stumble on your truth You need to figure out that what they want to know is you It's okay to have emotions, but don't use them as excuse... to lose What was so bad that you coulodn't say? What was so bad that they had to pay? You think your silence helps but it's too loud *
7.
Easier to Sleep (Gasper) I traced your face with wasteful touch, I placed my arm around you Your shoulder was a pillow, such a perfect scene of truth *It's fitting for what we've been through, but the end result is cheap It's easier to sleep with you, but I wish we could just sleep You knew not it was sacred, but you asked for the profane I thought that I could take it, like a needle in the vein * BRIDGE Was that all we were destined to be? It was all that I had wished for, it was part of what I felt But translation from a dream is poor, wish I wished for something else *
8.
Advantageous Sermon (Gasper) I'm caught in all my memories, they hold my present fate They spelled it out like hangman's game, I realize too late I break myself from thinking back, I traumatize my mind Breaking from the past is breaking me inside Punished by what I have loved, for pain reveals it's cost But what I am is made of love, and made of what I've lost I counted on what's lived and known, the worth that is implied Breaking fromm the past, will break me up inside BRIDGE With nothing that you bring with you, you may just feel you're free But progress is designed for whom has perspective from to see The future's incomplete... I won't say why I love the past, but hold on to this proof I'm moving on while holding on, I see the length of truth I cannot throw what time's bestowed, though some would have me try I cannot break from what has passed, it's what I am inside BRIDGE

They Forgot The One by Marisa Gasper 2000 She plays a game to hurt herself A mirror black and old A darkness to be dwelt upon A silent wish unfolds *Don’t be so sure you’re what you’re not Uncertainty’s a game You’re more of what you do not know, And what you cannot name She plays a game to hush herself A mirror colored red A shadow to be fed upon A silent doubt unsaid * BRIDGE You’re uncertain you’re what you want to be Be more uncertain you’re what you fear you are Is it worth it to believe you’re not worth it? She plays a game to hate herself A mirror in a maze Reflections cast from what’s not there A silent hope unmade * BRIDGE
