Echoes (Gasper) 4/12-13/2020 Once you fell my eyes were sore *before all of this Shadows set, the voice once more, the mirror dismissed Not knew you well, my image fell, borne through a distance We grew close, so black the rose, a weight upon my chest In time the game remained the same, and dark my eyes would grow I felt you held my heart in spell; though did not reap, I sowed And when that day I came to play, you lay with cunning smile And then we spent some months that went, not so bad, awhile… And I know, you’re the one that I’ve waited for… You’re the reason… behind my great endeavor I wait, and watch for what’s in store… *You’re the love that rests… inside of me forever How could I be wrong? Why did I do this? I don’t know you, I don’t know me, I’m losing you, I’m losing myself… *I’m always going to know you now, but I’m gonna love you still somehow Delusion cast upon your breast, confusing with eternal jest Romance’s end, never as true, when realized, one-sided view Be still my sweet, you are my friend, no more project, illusion end. *denotes an "echo" from another’s song: T. Petty, J. Buckley, & E. Smith
